mission
Funding of archaeological research in Peru is scarse. If available at all, private and public economic and human resources are commonly spent to fund rescue --as opposed to research-- projects. The former projects are --for now-- mandatory by law and are mainly designed to prevent the destruction of archaeological heritage before urban or agricultural expasion takes place.
Although we do not by any means oppose contract archaeology, scarcity of resources to carry out research projects is alarming. Our objective is to start creating a source of funding for small archaeological projects whose primary goal is research --that is for those projects whose primary goal is understanding prehistorical societies in Peru. Most of all, we hope to provide an administrative backbone for the capturing and reception of economic and human resources that are willing to support small research projects in Peru.
